Country Pecan Tart

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup sugar, divided
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 10 Tbsp. Country Crock® Spread, divided
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1/2 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1 egg
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Spray 9-inch tart pan* with no-stick cooking spray. Arrange tart pan on cookie sheet; set aside.
  2. Combine flour, 1/3 cup sugar and 1/8 teaspoon salt in large bowl. With fork, cut in 8 tablespoons (1/2 cup) Country Crock® Spread until mixture is size of coarse crumbs. Press into prepared tart pan; add pecans and set aside.
  3. Combine remaining 1/3 cup sugar, 1/8 teaspoon salt, 2 tablespoons Spread, melted, corn syrup, egg, egg whites and vanilla in large bowl. Carefully pour egg mixture over pecans.
  4. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until crust is golden and top looks set. On wire rack, cool completely before serving.

*TIP: Don't have a tart pan? Use a 9-inch aluminum-foil-lined cake pan instead.
