Mac and Cheeseburger Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 4 Tbsp. Shedd's Spread Country Crock® Spread, divided
  • 1 lb. extra lean ground beef [or ground turkey]
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cups 2% milk
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 Tbsp. yellow mustard
  • 2 Tbsp. ketchup
  • 1 cup shredded low fat cheddar cheese, divided
  • 8 ounces dry fusilli pasta, cooked and drained

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°
  2. Melt 2 tablespoons Shedd's Spread Country Crock® Spread in large skillet over medium-high heat. Add beef and onion;. cook until beef is thoroughly cooked and onions are tender, about 5 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, whisk together milk, flour, mustard, ketchup and remaining Spread in medium bowl. Stir milk mixture into skillet and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to low and cook until thick and creamy, about 4 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 cup cheese.
  4. Toss meat mixture with cooked pasta. Turn into 11 x 8-inch baking dish and sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup cheese. Bake 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Tip: For a fun serving idea, top with your favorite burger toppings, such as shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes and chopped pickles.
