Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds (about 680 g) store-bought pizza dough, at room temperature
  • ½ cup (125 mL) Country Crock® Original Spread, melted
  • 24 cubes mozzarella cheese
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon (15 mL) fresh parsley, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon (2.5 mL) crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon (5 mL) salt
  • 1 ½ cups (375 mL) prepared marinara sauce
  • 2 tablespoons (30 mL) freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • Rosemary sprigs for garnishing
  • Cherry tomatoes, halved for garnishing (optional)
  • Basil leaves for garnishing (optional)

      Instructions

      1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
      2. Grease the outside of a 6-ounce oven safe ramekin with some of the melted Country Crock® Original Spread and place it in the centre of the baking sheet. Fill the ramekin with water.
      3. Using a digital scale, cut the dough into 1-ounce (about 30 grams) pieces, yielding 24 pieces. Press each piece into a disk, add the cube of mozzarella and pinch to close, rolling the dough to shape it into a ball.
      4. Combine the melted Country Crock® Original Spread, garlic, parsley, crushed red pepper flakes and salt in a small bowl. Set aside.
      5. Arrange the wreath: Begin placing the stuffed dough balls around the ramekin. The dough balls should be nestled together, touching. Continue around in a tight circle until you have no remaining dough. Brush the entire wreath generously with herbed Country Crock® Original Spread mixture.
      6. Place in the oven to bake. Rotate the pan at the 15 minute mark to ensure even baking. Bake until golden brown, about 25-30 minutes.
      7. Very carefully, remove the ramekin and discard the water. Fill the ramekin with marinara sauce and return it to the centre of the baking sheet; brush the tops with the remaining Country Crock® Original Spread mixture. Sprinkle with parmesan.
      8. Garnish the plate with rosemary sprigs, cherry tomatoes and basil for that holiday feel. Enjoy!
