- 1 large yellow onion, sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 4 1/2 cups vegetable stock, plus 1/2 cup more as needed
- 1/4 cup fresh sage
- 3 1/2 tablespoons flour
- 1 cup apple cider
- 1/4 teaspoon each salt and pepper

Instructions
- Melt 2 tablespoons Country Crock® Original Spread in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat. Add the onions and sauté, stirring, until beginning to turn golden brown, 5-6 minutes. Add garlic and sauté for another minute.
- Add vegetable stock and fresh sage and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to simmer and let simmer for 15 minutes.
- Strain the stock into a measuring cup and discard the vegetables and sage. You should have about 2 1/2 - 3 cups of liquid remaining.
- In the same pot, melt remaining 5 tablespoons Original Spread over medium heat. Add flour and stir to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes until it smells fragrant and begins to turn golden.
- Slowly pour in 2 1/2 cups stock followed by the apple cider, whisking constantly to combine. Bring to a boil and cook for 1-2 more minutes until thickened as desired, adding up to 1/2 cup more vegetable stock as needed to thin the gravy to your liking.
- Serve over your favorite meal. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer and reheat on the stove to serve.
